Least Common Denominator

To find the least common denominator (LCD) of two fractions, find the least common multiple (LCM) of their denominators.

Example: Find the LCD for 2/3 and 3/4

3 and 4 are the denominators.
Multiples of 3 are 3, 6, 8, 12
Multiples of 4 are 4, 8, 12, 16

The LCD is 12 because 12 is the least common multiple of the denominators 3 and 4.
